Ministry: Russian GDP grows 2.1% in May, 1.8% in January–May
MOSCOW, Jun 20 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose 2.1% on the year in May and 1.8% on the year in January–May, the Economic Development Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
The ministry also adjusted GDP growth estimates for January–March to 1.5% and for April to 2.2%.
The ministry said it expects the Federal State Statistics Service to raise its GDP assessment in 2017 to 2% from 1.5%. “After the Federal State Statistics Service receives and surveys the final annual reports by companies in all sectors of economic activity, a final GDP growth estimate for 2017 can amount to about 2%.”
